The miracle of acupuncture + a few life updates

Oh my goodness, there is so much I have to share with you, just finding it hard to make time. Where to even start?

Well I guess I’ll share the good stuff first….this year has not been all cupcakes and Disneyland. In February Cowboy (my husband Mike) had a stroke and has had complications since. We tried so.many.things. to help him improve. Stanford, several neurologists, vestibular specialists, doctors, blah blah blah. Nothing helped. His dizziness, brain fog, cognitive memory & other symptoms actually got worse.

*Enter acupuncture + Chinese herbs*

If you know my husband, you know. This man is definitely not into “hippies, twigs, roots or herbs” ha! Well turns out those are the only things that have actually worked.(Minus the hippie part)

He just completed his 11th session of acupuncture and took his hippie herbs, twigs, roots + herbs like a good little Cowboy and has improved SO much that he is returning to work very soon!

I have believed in the healing powers of acupuncture and Chinese medicine for a few years now, but I really feel like I just witnessed some sort of a miracle. I asked our acupuncturist if she was surprised at his progress and she calmly + confidently said “no, I expected this.” I was like whaaaaaat?! I didn’t LMAO!! At least not this fast. #mindblown

After watching Cowboys progress, I opened the conversation with our acupuncturist about helping heal my gut issues. I have come a long way, but I’m nowhere near healed, and in some ways I’m getting worse. Last month I developed a stomach ulcer which I’m still dealing with, plus extra stress this year, and braces have been very painful on my TMJ and causing pain, eye strain/vision issues/migraines.

Soon we’re going to scrap everything we know (diagnosis, supplements, etc) and start treating me from a 100% Chinese Medicine + acupuncture approach. I’m looking forward to it, especially after watching Cowboys experience. Would you be interested in reading about my experiences with it? If so, I’m happy to blog about it.

Cheers to drinking a lot more hippie tea! And learning how to spell Tibetan.

In other news, I met President Bush for the second time! You know, NBD.😳

September 2019

I was so shocked when he walked in, looked around and walked right up to me, shook my hand and said “Jacqueline, it’s been ages since I last saw you. How are you doin’ darlin’?” In his really sweet southern accent.

Then he said “come on over, let’s take another picture.”

He is very friendly and approachable. I could NOT believe he remembered me from 2016! He made my day!

October 2016

Ahhhhh this year has been insane and I am definitely ready for some down time, more Bam snuggles and Disneyland!!!!

Please share your life updates and experiences with acupuncture below. If you have questions, leave them below as well and I’ll get back to you.

I hope you’re having a wonderful fall so far!
