Loose Ends Are For The Birds

We are hoping this is the week for us! The Ford F-350 and 5th wheel should arrive any day now. The truck is on a railcar in Milpitas, CA and the 5th wheel is currently in route. We will know more on tomorrow. With all of the fires in our area, we are prepared for delays, yet hopeful all goes smoothly.

We are tired of living in limbo, waiting for something to happen. We have been doing our best to keep busy….going through our stuff, sold or donated most of it, sold both vehicles, sold most of the furniture, packed a little, saving Amazon boxes, washing the bigger items like blankets and stuff like that to prepare as much as we can.

This week we are placing last minute Amazon orders while we still have an address ha! We are also doing last minute Target/grocery runs, making a list of utilities to cancel, change of address, selling the last of our furniture, requesting Bams vet records and getting in as much time with friends as possible.

There has been a lot of hurry up and wait. It’s like the last hour of a long trip and you just want to be there already. Plus being surrounded by 3 wildfires, thick smoke, the uncertainties due to the “C” word, it’s safe to say we are more than ready to get the show on the road. We are thankful these are our problems, as there are so many others who are struggling with far worse.

Friday, the 28th is Cowboys last day of work and we are very stoked about that! We are hoping the stars align so we are able to start moving next weekend. When the 5th wheel arrives at the dealership, they will need a few days to install upgrades like our washer/dryer. Cowboy ordered those extras last week so they should be here before it arrives. In an ideal world, we hope it arrives early next week to allow time for those extras.

With all of that said, this week my goal is to embrace the process. It’s such a weird time in our life. Part of me wants to speed right through to the other side and not give myself a chance to think about it, but the other part of me wants to slow down and embrace the process. Change is hard for this homebody who loves consistency, but I know just on the other side of all of this is so much more life to live.

How’s Cowboy doing with all of this? Well….he’s annoyed and ready to move on. He has no problems with change of lifestyle so he’s not worried one bit. Just annoyed ha!

Oh and Bam…he has no idea his life is about to dramatically change, and I am not about to break it to him.

Good Lord willing, this time next week we will be moving into our new home on wheels, wrapping up our chapter here in Monterey.

We plan to start vlogging next week as everything arrives, Cowboy quits his job and things start to move along. Is there anything specific you would like to see?

  1. I’m just so excited for you both! It really has been fun following along so far! I can’t wait to see how you arrange the interior of your new home. So much in the world right now is uncertain, but spending time together and enjoying the little things in life, will hopefully make this time a bit easier.
